2024 GMC Yukon AT4 Interior, Release Date, Price – The 2024 GMC Yukon competes with other full-size SUVs such as the Nissan Armada, Ford Expedition, and Chevrolet Tahoe. The GMC Yukon is offered in 5 different trim levels, ranging from a starting MSRP of $55,000 to a maximum of $92,150. However, the three available engines show that not all packages are created equal.
The base model comes with a 5.3L V8 engine that produces 355 hp and 519 lb-ft of torque. The GMC Yukon’s towing capability increases to 8,300 pounds with this engine. A 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 machine can also be purchased as an option. The GMC Yukon also has a 277-horsepower 3.0L Inline-6 Turbodiesel engine as an option. Both powertrains may be paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
New for 2024: the GMC Yukon
Simply put, the new GMC Yukon looks far better than the one it replaces. The more prominent grille and unique headlamps give it a bolder appearance. Every model’s headlights, fog lights, daytime running lights, and taillights are equipped with LED technology as standard. The remainder of the range rides on bigger 20-inch alloys, while the entry-level model makes do with 18-inches. The AT4 is a rugged vehicle with a performance front skid plate and red recovery hooks. The Denali is the only trim level that comes standard with a panoramic power sunroof, although other groups, like the AT4 we tested, offer it as an option. Satin chrome is used on Denali’s body moldings and grille and has a different front fascia.
Exterior design is one of the strong points of the Yukon AT4. The $8,650 AT4 Premium Plus Package on our test vehicle included the power-retractable aid steps with excellent LED perimeter lighting, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, adaptive air suspension, and the Satin Steel Metallic paint job (a $495 option). However, the price of this bundle has dropped. The all-terrain tires on the 20-inch aluminum wheels with Carbon Grey Metallic highlights were OK, although we would have preferred winter tires given the season. Overall, it’s a handsome SUV that wouldn’t seem out of place in a top-tier ski lodge.
The inside of the 2024 GMC Yukon is updated somewhat from prior models. New for 2024 is a 12.0-inch digital gauge display and an updated infotainment interface. The dashboard is finished in a plusher, soft-touch material, and higher-end materials are utilized throughout the cabin. Chrome plating is used on all buttons and dials. The controls on the wheel are silky smooth, and everything is neatly laid out. While shorter passengers may have no trouble getting in and out of the vehicle, those of us with more prominent statures may struggle.
There are enough seats for eight people across three rows in a 2024 GMC Yukon cabin. There is now 40% more storage capacity available on board. The standard seating material is a cloth that may be swapped out for leather for an additional cost. When riding for extended periods, you will find the seats quite comfortable. The armrest is spacious enough for the driver and passenger to use in comfort. There’s enough for three grownups in the rear. There is room in the third row for your youngsters, although adults will find slightly less legroom than in other SUVs. The 10.2-inch floating infotainment display is standard on every GMC Yukon. The screen is high quality and doesn’t glare outside in the sun. There are seven USB and auxiliary connectors and HD and satellite radio on the screen.
The Chevrolet Tahoe likewise uses the same tried-and-true powertrain. Instead of downsizing and forced induction, GMC has opted to keep the displacement and aspiration of their pair of V8s at their original levels. The smaller 5.3-liter V8 makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, but not until 4,100 revolutions per minute. The 6.2-liter V8 produces more power (420 hp) and torque (460 lb-ft), giving it the upper hand when taking off and passing. Even though the 3.0-liter turbocharged Duramax inline-six only generates 277 horsepower, the engine’s primary selling point is its 460 lb-ft of torque at a low 1,500 rpm.
Every Yukon has a powerful and responsive 10-speed automatic gearbox, regardless of the engine option. Compared to the six-speed information in the outgoing Yukon, this transmission performs a considerably better job of creating most of the smaller V8’s lower outputs. Since oil burners provide low-end solid torque and would be an excellent match for this trim, it’s a shame they’re not available for the AT4.
The Release Date and Cost of the 2024 GMC Yukon
The base price of an SLT is $58,900, and it comes equipped with the same engine and transmission as the base model. The base model GMC Yukon SLE with a 5.3-liter V8 engine and two-wheel drive starts at $52,100. The Duramax diesel engine is an additional $845 on the SLT and $895 on the SLE. Add $3,000 if you want a four-wheel drive. The base price of an AT4 is $66,600, and it comes with 4WD and a 5.3-liter V8 engine. The 6.2-liter engine is an extra $2,440 if you choose it. The luxury Denali starts at $70,000 for 2WD models and increases by $3,000. There is no pricing differential between the various engines for the fully-loaded vehicle, as specified by the manufacturer. A $1,695 destination fee is not included in this pricing. However, the fully-loaded Denali trim level of the GMC Yukon may cost more than $95,000. It is predicted that the 2024 GMC Yukon will debut in the summer of that year in the United States.
