2024 GMC Yukon Denali Release Date, Price, Specs

2024 GMC Yukon Denali Release Date, Price, SpecsThe 2024 GMC Yukon competes with other full-size SUVs such as the Nissan Armada, Ford Expedition, and Chevrolet Tahoe. The GMC Yukon is available in 5 trim levels, with prices ranging from a starting MSRP of $55,000 to a maximum of $92,150. But the quality control isn’t the same for each trim level because there are only three engines to choose from.

The base trim has a 5.3L V8 engine that produces 355 hp and 519 lb-ft of torque. The GMC Yukon can haul 8,300 pounds when equipped with this engine. The 420-horsepower 6.2L V8 is an available upgrade. The GMC Yukon also offers a 277-horsepower 3.0L Inline-6 Turbodiesel engine option. Both engines may be paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.

2024 GMC Yukon Redesign

The new GMC Yukon looks far better than the one it replaces. The more prominent grille and unique headlamps give it a more commanding presence. The daytime running lights, taillights, turn signals, and fog lights are all equipped with LED technology as standard on all models. The lower-end models get by on 18-inch alloys, while the higher-end models roll on 20-inches. The AT4’s sturdy design includes a performance front skid plate and bright red recovery hooks. Unlike the one we tested (an AT4), Denali models come standard with a panoramic motorized sunroof. The Denali has a unique grille and satin chrome moldings on the body sides.

In particular, the Yukon AT4 has a gorgeous body. The $8,650 AT4 Premium Plus Package on our test vehicle included the power-retractable aid steps with excellent LED perimeter lighting, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, adaptive air suspension, and the Satin Steel Metallic paint job (a $495 option). This bundle, however, has just been marked down in price. The all-terrain tires that came on the 20-inch aluminum wheels with Carbon Grey Metallic accents were fine, but we would have preferred winter tires given the season. Overall, it’s a handsome SUV that wouldn’t seem out of place in a high-end ski lodge.

Interior

The inside of the 2024 GMC Yukon has been updated with new standard features like a 12.0-inch digital gauge display and an updated infotainment system. The interior has high-end materials, including a dashboard upholstered in plush fabric. Whether it’s a button or control, it’s all chromed out. Turning the steering wheel is easy, and all the rules are neatly laid out. There is enough headroom up front, but larger passengers may have trouble getting in and out.

There are enough seats for eight passengers in the 2024 GMC Yukon’s three-row interior. There is now 40% more storage space on the vehicle. Standard seating is cloth, and genuine leather is available as an option. Those in the back seats will have a luxurious journey. Because of its generous size, the driver and the passenger can rest their arms on the armrest. There’s enough for three grownups in the rear. There is enough room for your youngsters in the third row, but adult passengers will find less legroom than in other SUVs. The 10.2-inch floating infotainment display is standard on every GMC Yukon. No glare occurs on the screen even when outside in direct sunlight, proving the show’s high quality. Seven USB and auxiliary connectors and high-definition satellite radio may be accessed through the net.

Engine

GMC has opted to keep the displacement constant and use natural aspiration for its V8 engines rather than downsizing or using forced induction. These motors are standard and may also be found in the Chevrolet Tahoe. When revved to 4,100 rpm, the 5.3-liter V8’s 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque become fully available. Off the line and while passing at more incredible speeds, the 6.2-liter V8’s superior 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft give it a decisive advantage. Although it only produces 277 horsepower, the 3.0-liter turbocharged Duramax inline-main six’s selling point is its 460 lb-ft of torque, which is available at a low 1,500 rpm.

Every Yukon has a powerful and responsive 10-speed automatic gearbox, regardless of the engine option. Reached to the six-speed transmission in the outgoing Yukon, this transmission performs considerably better at making the most of the shorter V8’s lower outputs. The AT4 is not available with the oil burner engine, which would be ideal for this trim level because of its high torque at low RPM.
