GMC Acadia AT4 2024 Redesign, AWD, Engine – The GMC Acadia is competing against some of the top crossovers in the midsize class in the competitive US crossover market. Despite the American brand’s established level of popularity, the SUV makes an effort to differentiate itself by fusing luxury and affordability. Although it is slightly smaller than its immediate competitors, it nonetheless makes an effort to fit three rows of seats comfortably. Its aim appears a little hazy with a choice of powerful V6 and turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Fortunately, the Acadia has plenty of comfort and safety technology to compliment its “jack of all trades, master of none” approach. This helps the Acadia shore up some of its weak aspects, such as a crowded third row and a little cargo hold. We’ll have to stay and see if the Acadia can hold its own in the market for another year as the competition updates more quickly.
The 2024 GMC Acadia competes in the midsize SUV segment against well-known models such as the Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, and Honda Pilot. But because there are two different powerplant options, not all trims are created equal. The Acadia is available in two trim levels, with basic MSRPs ranging from around $36,700 to about $41,000.
GMC Acadia 2024 Redesign
The GMC Acadia is undoubtedly the most stylish and tough-looking SUV in its class. It has a strong road presence because of its robust design, chic chrome highlights, and large grille. The more streamlined LED headlights are also attractive. Keep in mind that the Acadia is the smallest while seeming to be the largest in its segment. The Acadia’s design is straightforward from the side and without any extraneous body lines. The squared wheel arches may accommodate 17, 18, or 20-inch alloy wheels, with new wheel designs for the latter two expected this year. The vehicle’s off-road capabilities can be improved with a higher stance and more ground clearance. The rear profile has a dynamic appearance with dual chrome tip exhausts.
Acadia’s color palette for 2024 has lost one color, but there is also a new choice. Summit White is the primary, cost-free color for the series. SLE offers a few optional extras. You may choose between Satin Steel, Ebony Twilight, Midnight Blue, or Light Stone, a new color for this year, for $495. The price of the Cayenne Red Tintcoat is $645. White Frost Tricoat fans need to upgrade to at least the SLT or AT4 and spend an additional $1,095, while Hunter Metallic is only available on the Denali for $495. Red Mahogany is not available this year.
Interior
The GMC Acadia provides a sophisticated cabin with contemporary ergonomics. The roomy cabin can accommodate up to seven passengers. The second row with captain’s seats is more comfortable, thanks to the alternative seating arrangement. Standard upholstery is cloth, but as we increase the trim level, the upholstery gets nicer. Six-footers won’t have any problem fitting into the front seats because they are cozy and roomy. On higher versions, power-adjustable front seats and a steering wheel are offered. Because of the upright seating posture and excellent visibility provided by the large windshield, the internal dynamics will stay unchanged. Adults may also fit in the second row reasonably quickly, and the seats are likewise large. Rear heated seats are an optional feature. For longer trips, the third row is more cramped for the adults but is often comfortable.
The extensive 8-inch infotainment system is cleverly positioned in the middle. CarPlay and Android Auto are also included as standard features. The UI is simple, and the touchscreen’s images are clear. With the physical controls offered, you may modify the settings without difficulty. On higher trims, an entertainment system for the backseat is provided that includes two 8-inch displays and two Bluetooth headphones.
Compared to the competition, the usual cargo area of 12.8 cubic feet behind the third row appears modest. The second-row seats may be folded to create 41.7 cubic feet of cargo capacity. You get 79 cubic feet of maximum load space, fewer than competing midsize SUVs. Even so, it’s not too awful for an SUV.
Engine
When buying a GMC Acadia, you have a choice of two engines, but you must choose a trim that matches your power requirements. Some of your overtaking tactics might still need planning, but you should have enough strength to execute them when correct. The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four is the base engine for the entry-level SLE and is available with either front-wheel drive or AWD on the bottom three trims, including the Denali as of this year but not on the AT4, which only has the V6 engine. It generates 228 horsepower and a robust 258 lb-ft, which makes the crossover seem faster when driving.
The strong 3.6-liter V6 that comes standard on the AT4 is also available on the SLT and Denali. Except for the AT4, which only offers the V6, you may pick the powertrain that best matches your needs. The Acadia’s best engine produces 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque, giving it all the power it could need to get you where you’re going quickly. It also has a terrific sound. An automated nine-speed gearbox rows the gears for you regardless of the engine and powertrain you choose. It is well-tuned and doesn’t have trouble locating the appropriate equipment.
The Price and Release Date for the 2024 GMC Acadia
Although GMC is known for making stylish cars, it doesn’t quite make it into the premium market. The GMC Acadia’s price isn’t outrageous but is a bit pricier than the more affordable crossovers. The FWD SLE basic model will set you back $34,800, while the FWD SLT with the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine will cost you $39,100. The SLE costs $37,100, and the SLT costs $41,100 more when AWD is selected. The AT4 starts at $41,100 and is only offered with an all-wheel drive system and a V6 engine. If you want the Denali with the 2.0-liter turbo and FWD, you must pay $46,600, but the price of the Denali with the V6 and AWD is close to $50,000 at $48,600. These are MSRP costs; they do not account for taxes, license fees, registration, or the $1,195 destination charge. The summer of 2024 is predicted to be the GMC Acadia’s debut date in the US.
