GMC Canyon Denali 2024 Colors, Engine, Changes

GMC Canyon Denali 2024 Colors, Engine, ChangesNew underpinnings are being introduced for the 2024 model year of the GMC Canyon and, presumably, the Chevrolet Colorado. The Canyon has always closely resembled its bow-tie sibling, but only to a fault. Only the Colorado is available in the dirt-throwing ZR2 off-road trim, even though both vehicles share powertrains, a smooth ride, and a lackluster cabin. Fortunately, that’s about to change. According to reports, the 2023 GMC Canyon will get a new AT4X grade identical to the ZR2. It will give it much greater off-road prowess, allowing it to compete with vehicles like the Toyota Tacoma, the Jeep Gladiator, and the Ford Ranger. As with the ZR2, we anticipate that the Canyon AT4X will include a locking front and rear differential, an improved suspension, larger Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires, and Multimatic spool-valve dampers. Later this summer, the big-bodied Canyon is forecasted to sling some dirt on the wheels.

The 2024 GMC Canyon Crew Cab is a midsize pickup truck, a more compact version of the more prominent Sierra. It’s an excellent option for anyone looking for a cheap, little pickup truck. The Canyon is Chevy’s more luxurious sister to Colorado since they share a platform. GMC provides two different Canyon Crew Cab trims, the base Elevation, and the higher-end Elevation. They start at $28,700 and go up to $37,300 for the top-tier Elevation model.

2024 GMC Canyon Redesign

The 2024 GMC Canyon Crew Cab presents a robust and attractive persona that’s easy on the eyes. It echoes the powerful nature of the vehicle. The overall look is the same, but the headlamps and grille are more menacing. Muscular body lines are on full display in the front fascia, which otherwise has a great body. It comes standard with 18-inch aluminum wheels and all-season Blackwall tires, even in the lowest grade.

Summit White is the sole standard color on any of the trim levels. The base Elevation Standard trim is available in Onyx Black, Satin Steel, and Dynamic Blue for an additional $495.Desert Sand Metallic is $495, and Cayenne Red Tintcoat is $645 for the next trim level, the Elevation. At this level and above, the AT4 eliminates Dynamic Blue. A Hunter metallic paint job may be yours for an extra $495 on the Denali. This dark blueish-gray color provides a nice contrast to Denali’s excellent chrome. Cayenne Red Tintcoat, a lovely color, was standard on our Canyon AT4. Is there any justification for spending an additional $645? That depends totally on one’s taste and, of course, their financial situation.

Interior

Last year, GMC made subtle changes to the Canyon’s appearance, most noticeably a new grille design that gives the car a bit more presence. You may choose between a more rugged (AT4) or flashier (AT5) appearance (Denali). The AT4 has 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires on 17-inch alloy wheels, the base model has 18-inch wheels, and the Denali has 20-inch wheels. Each vehicle has a halogen projector beam headlight with LED trademark illumination and a daytime running light. The top-of-the-line AT4 model features LED cargo box illumination, dark chrome exterior finishes, and bright red recovery hooks. The entry-level trim consists of black door knobs and non-electric, fixed mirrors. The tailgate of all but the base trim is equipped with an EZ-Lift feature that makes it easier to raise and lower the lid. This year, a new Denali Black Edition kit makes the flagship’s wheels and exterior trim all black for a sinister, covert look.

As standard equipment on our AT4 Crew Cab, you’ll find 17-inch gloss black aluminum wheels, red tow hooks, a mid skid plate, a spray-on bed liner, and a variety of dealer-installed extras, including AT4 emblems, off-road rocker protection, and a black performance exhaust. We think it’s more attractive than the Chevy Colorado, its corporate sibling. The bed is 61.7 inches long, shorter than the extended bed’s 74 inches. We found that the size of a regular bed was enough for sleeping and other purposes.

Engine

The GMC Canyon crew cab may be had with one of three different engines. The standard 6-speed automatic transmission is paired with a 2.5-liter inline-4 engine. Regarding the drivetrain, the Elevation Standard only provides a 2WD setup, while the Elevation comes with a 4WD setup as an option. There is 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque produced by the motor. This allows the vehicle to go from 0 to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds and to do 1/4 mile in 16.5 seconds. It can pull 3,500 pounds behind it and carry 1,440 pounds on its own. The 3.6L V6 engine is paired with a smooth-shifting 8-speed gearbox. The V6 engine consumes more fuel but produces more horsepower. The V6 powerplant produces 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. The truck accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds thanks to its V6 engine, and it can cover a quarter mile in 15.2 seconds. It has the highest towing capacity of the bunch, at 7,600 pounds when properly outfitted.

The other trim level’s exclusive engine is a 2.8L Duramax Turbocharged Diesel inline-4 that generates 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Because of its excellent power production, the diesel engine is more capable of hauling and gets better gas mileage. The gearbox and standard engine both operate smoothly and quickly. The 3.6L V6 engine’s power is instantly apparent when the accelerator is mashed. Even the eight-speed gearbox is slick as silk. When you add the all-wheel drive system to the V6 engine, it becomes even more impressive how much it can pull.
