When Will The New GMC Yukon Denali 2024 Be Available

When Will The New GMC Yukon Denali 2024 Be Available – The GMC division of GM has long been viewed as the company’s workhorse, and as such, they have focused solely on producing commercial vehicles. This is no longer the case with GMC’s Yukon lineup, and the 2024 Yukon is the most luxurious full-size SUV GMC has ever made. In 2024, GMC will introduce a new trim called the Denali Ultimate, pushing the already insane and loaded Denali model closer to the ultra-deluxe class by including every conceivable piece of equipment and a big engine. For those who feel cramped in a vehicle with three rows of seats, GMC offers the GMC Yukon XL, which features a longer wheelbase and additional passenger space.

The base price of a 2024 GMC Yukon is projected to be $57,000, which is a significant increase above the previous model’s $42,000 asking price. GMC equips all Yukons with a V8 engine, but the more potent version is only available on the top-tier Denali models and can be had as an option on the base AT4 model. An all-wheel-drive system is standard on the off-road-oriented AT4 grade, while the other trims offer it as an option alongside a standard 10-speed automatic transmission. Even though the GMC Yukon and the Chevrolet Tahoe share a base, other vehicles with the same body style, like the Ford Expedition and the Nissan Armada, also offer great packages.

2024 GMC Yukon Redesign

Compared to its predecessor, the new GMC Yukon offers a visual upgrade. It’s more commanding in appearance than before, thanks mainly to the redesigned front fascia that features a more prominent grille and more pronounced headlamps. Every model’s headlights, fog lights, daytime running lights, and taillights are equipped with LED technology as standard. The rest of the lineup rides on larger 20-inch alloys, while the entry-level model makes do with 18-inches. The robust AT4 has red recovery hooks and a performance front skid plate. The Denali is the only trim level that comes standard with a panoramic power sunroof, but other levels, like the AT4 we tested, offer it as an option. Besides its distinctive grille and satin-chrome body trim, the Denali also stands out for its streamlined side moldings.

In particular, the Yukon AT4 has a gorgeous body. Overall, it’s a handsome SUV that would look right at home in any top-tier ski area. Our $495 Satin Steel Metallic test vehicle had the optional $8,650 AT4 Premium Plus Package, which included a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, adaptive air suspension, power-retractable aid steps with excellent LED perimeter lighting, and heated and ventilated front seats. Unfortunately, the price of this bundle has been cut recently. The all-terrain tires that came on the 20-inch aluminum wheels with Carbon Grey Metallic highlights were fine, but we would have opted for winter tires given the season.

Interior

It is immediately apparent upon entering the cabin that GMC has made significant improvements over not only the previous Yukon but also its competitors. It’s so roomy; even the grownups in the back row won’t feel cramped. Most of the materials used are of high quality. Still, it is worth noting that the opulent Denali stands apart from the rest of the lineup with its distinctive cabin design and, most notably, its use of premium materials. The contrast between the satin steel body and the jet black leather seats is striking. All 2024 models, it’s worth noting, have switched to a fully digital instrument cluster. Power-adjustable front seats and tri-zone automated climate control are standard on even the base Yukon; in the Denali, you also get a head-up display in a 15-inch color display and a Bose sound system with 14 speakers.

The standard SLE comes with an option of Jet Black or Dark Walnut/Slate cloth upholstery for the seats. The steering wheel comes coated in leather. The AT4 only comes with perforated leather in Jet Black, but for a little more money, you can get it in all the same colors on the SLT. When comparing the Denali to its predecessors, the quality of its components is superior. Very Dark Ash Gray with Dark Walnut, Jet Black with Jet Black or Brownstone, and Light Shale with Teak perforated leather upholstery options are available for this model. It has a luxurious atmosphere, but the Yukon models don’t feel noticeably better made than the more reasonably priced Chevrolet Tahoe.

Engine

Instead of opting for reduction and forced induction, GMC has given its pair of V8s pure displacement and natural aspiration. The Chevrolet Tahoe uses the same tried-and-true powertrains. You’ll need to rev the smaller 5.3-liter V8 engine to 4,100 rpm to achieve its peak torque of 383 lb-ft, but it makes 355 hp. The 6.2-liter V8 generates 422 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, giving it a distinct advantage off the line while passing at more incredible speeds. The 3.0-liter turbocharged Duramax inline-six only generates 277 hp, but its 460 lb-ft of torque sets this engine apart.

Every Yukon has a powerful and responsive 10-speed automatic transmission, regardless of the engine option. Compared to the six-speed transmission used in the previous-generation Yukon, this transmission does a far better job of optimizing the smaller V8’s lower outputs. Although the oil burner would be ideal for this trim level due to its instantaneous torque, the AT4 does not support this engine.

2024 GMC Yukon Release Date and Price

The base model GMC Yukon SLE with a 5.3-liter V8 engine and 2WD starts at $52,100. The SLT has the same engine and powertrain as the base model but costs $58,900 more. Adding the Duramax diesel engine costs an extra $845 on the SLT and $895 on the SLE. You should expect to pay an additional $3,000. The base price of an AT4 with 4WD and a 5.3-liter V8 engine is $66,600. The 6.2-liter engine is an extra $2,440. The luxury Denali starts at $70,000 with 2WD and goes up to $73,000 with 4WD. There is no difference in sticker price between the various powertrain options, as far as the manufacturer is concerned. All of these costs don’t include a $1,695 destination fee. Price tags of over $95,000 are not uncommon for fully-loaded Denali trim levels of the GMC Yukon. The 2024 GMC Yukon is scheduled to debut in the summer of that year in the United States.
